Stem Cell Research
|
Australian researchers have made prostate tissue from embryonic stem cells.
This means that they are able to study the development of diseases like
prostate cancer in much more detail.
Plus, a researcher in the US wants to grow new organs from animals, but in a
unique way.
A technology called somatic cell nuclear transfer is also associated with
stem cells. Some people call this technology therapeutic cloning and Norman
Swan speaks with a woman who has a personal interest in this technique.
Also, Melbourne based scientist and journalist Elizabeth Finkel talks about
stem cells and cloning, the debate that won't go away.
