Position Title/Rank: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Division: Faculty of Arts and Science Department: Writing and Rhetoric Deadline: March 30, 2007 Job Description: The University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Writing and Rhetoric Program, commencing July 1, 2007. This position is for a term of two years, renewable for an additional year, for a total of three years. The Writing and Rhetoric Program seeks candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching university-level courses, with relevant teaching experience in some combination of the following: writing, rhetoric, composition, professional/business writing, media studies, prose style, critical thinking, or editing. The successful candidate will have extensive experience marking undergraduate essays and the ability to teach both entry-level and upper-level undergraduate students. The successful candidate should show evidence of research and/or professional development. Fluency in written and spoken English is required and preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Writing and Rhetoric, Professional Writing, English Literature, or a related field. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
