Nina, I have read, but it is seldom stressed, that ESCR is needed to learn
what causes diseases. The Dennis Turner case illustrates that cell
replacement is not by itself the answer if you don't know what caused the
cells to die in the first place. What you are telling me just depresses me
more.

When Dr. Joe Rogers called me on Rep. Stump's behalf it sounded like he
wanted to do the same thing Levesque did with Turner over 8 years ago with
my brain cells!! I will visit his lab when he returns from Europe. Haven't
heard from Mobely from the U of AZ yet.

Although Rogers was affable and friendly, he told me everyone in his lab
opposed ESCR. Must be some kind of religious litmus test to work there.
If Stump's bill passes the AZ legislature I'll bet you Rogers and Mobely
will get some of the 30 million dollars.

Arizona is just teeming with right-wing conservatives (although new people
are moving in) like the Center for AZ Policy which opposes ESCR, gays, a
woman's right to choose, etc.etc., I don't know how they ever got Democrat
Napolitano as Governor.

The situation here in AZ is dire and serious. Progress is being blocked
wherever possible.
Ray
