Debbie, I was told that the most common bad side effect of DBS was
infection.  Stroke and death are possibilities although I have not
personally heard of anyone who had them.  When I had the surgeries I
actually hoped I would die on the operating table, but it was not to be.  I
never thought I would have DBS, but my tremors got so bad I was ready.  I
dread having to have the batteries replaced in the neurotransmitters.
