Hi Emily:
How old is your father-in-law? When was he diagnosed with PD?
The first thing he should know is that he shouldn't think that this
disease is not curable. Nothing is impossible. But it is not easy either.
He should learn to fight like a tiger and think like a fox, if he wants to
outwit this disease.
The second most important thing is that he should do at least 30 min
exercise every day. (I do stationery bike exercise). will help grow his own
stem cells.
Right from the beginning, I decided I will not take any western medication,
especially sinemet, the magic medicine all the neurologists will swear by.
Remember every drug has its own side effects in the long run, which may turn
out to be worse than the disease symptoms.
I started on anti-oxidant therapy along with some ayurvedic medications. I
am 73 years old now.
I was diagnosed about 10 years ago, I am still walking and talking. Unless I
tell them, nobody will find out that I have PD!
I am still active in my research, which is cancer. You can read about my
work from the internet by goolgling for the words "Neosis + Rajaraman".
That is my two cents worth.
    R. Rajaraman
