This is forwarded in case it might help someone.

My wife, Kathy, has always been an active tomboy, sailing (over 12,000
miles with me), tennis, moderate hiking. Mid-70's. Started having what
they first thought was essential tremor in right arm last June (or so).
diagnosed PD in December. has classic pill-rolling type. once she can
calm it down, she sleeps OK. Dr said that her (dry) macular
degeneration might cause her more problems in the long run than PD will.
Interesting thought. Started Azilect early Jan. eats less cheese and
smoked salmon (or anything smoked or aged) and pickeled herring
(favorites of ours) but Dr said a little bit won't hurt. No change in
tremor - but he said that does not matter. Started Requip in addition to
Azilect about four weks ago, dose increases each week. feels a little
spacey, get tired more easily but still functions in daily life quite
well. Some days the tremor is a bit less.. Sometimes her right big toe
acts up, more funny than bothersome. Still does watercolor most every
day - loves it. Cannot see a tennis ball well enough anymore so we plan
to take up golf. Taking Tai Chi and might even try meditation.

(If this is useful to anyone, i'll keep the list up to date on any
changes. i was a health care counselor for years (HiCAP) and am a
retired engineer who like to keep track of things like this and drives
most doctors nuts with questions.) Our PCP advised us to seek out a
neurologist with lots of PD experience. That is what we have (Santa
Barbara).)

The doctor was also concerned about her dyskinesias, but I'm not too sure how this relates to Azilect. She noticed someone on the List asked about it, so stay tuned and we'll let you know what her experience is.
