 Hello all,

I haven't been keeping up with the list as much as I'd like to, but this caught my eye this a.m.and I hope you won't mind my putting in my two cents' worth.

The line between information and marketing is not always clear. Take DBS. I've received lots of glossy promotional materials regarding DBS, and some on this list, rightly IMHO, question whether the current impetus toward doing DBS at earlier stages of PD is a way to expand the customer base. At the same time, DBS has been a godsend for many, and, this being the USA, it won't be available unless somebody makes money doing it.

Don't we want to know about research-based interventions that might be useful to us? This is a non-invasive, non-drug aid that appears to effectively help PD brains and bodies navigate. (Their video clips are pretty remarkable.) I'm intrigued, and pleased to have received the info on the listserv.

Kathleen

I think it would be foolish if we allowed this list to target us as?

potential "marks" or "customers", whichever the case may be. Am I being too?

skeptical??
