-------- Original Message -------- Dear REED-L listmembers (with apologies for cross-posting): There are still places left in the session on boy bishops sponsored by the Medieval and Renaissance Drama Society at the 2008 (July 7-10) Medieval Congress at the University of Leeds: New Perspectives on Boy Bishops. Boy bishops have been largely left out of the explosion of scholarship on medieval drama over the last few decades. This panel invites papers that reconsider the boy bishop in the light of new evidence from archival research and/or new perspectives on the place of ritual and festive practices in medieval culture. Expressions of interest should be made by September 15, 2007 at the latest, to have any chance of inclusion in the session.
