Part of an article: I assume this happened about a year ago.

Monday, October 29, 2007
On Friday December 3rd, Geron Corporation was experiencing an unusual event:
it was the site a protest by two anti-stem cell research groups. Menlo Park
where the corporation is located at, an odd place for pro-life protests, is
progressive and politically moderate. Half of the residents with college
graduate degrees work in areas related in some ways to industry, research
and technology. Geron corporation, a biotech firm described as "the leading
biotechnology company focused on human aging" has been the center of
ramparts of stem cell foes and advocates over the last two years. The
peaceful protest lasted 3 hours and kept employees from coming to work.
Media reported that at least 45 protesters attended the gathering; they
waved signs of aborted fetus. They sought to meet with Geron officials, to
express their disagreement on what the company does, but only got as far as
the security guards. Some national figures have attacked stem cell research
and companies focusing on the research such as Geron in particular.
