ned: yes i have seen all the disney and other movies about lab animals being abused by unscrupulous companies and then saved from certain annihalation by the hero who risks everything to save this poor animal who has taken on human charactaristics and emotions as the animal saves the world from destruction. i sob my eyes out and then i go back to work on finding a cure fot this damn disease...and i face reality. the fact is that twol of my reseacher friends use animals during the the course of scientific inquiry and i thank God for providing us with the animals to use for this purpose. all of the breeders and handlers of these animals do not take it personally-it is their job and they maintain a professional attitude about their work. it is time to make our priorities here. in our family we include a collie dog named lassie and 3 cats and i love those animals but given the choice between saving one of my children during a housefire or saving a beloved pet, i can assure you that there would not be a doubt in my mind. human life is far more important than ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn an animal-in any situation. yes, i eat meat and wear leather, too.
