This may sound like a mutual admiration society, but Ray and Jean and
every single one of you reading this, that make a call or writes a
letter to their representative or just gets out of bed and makes the
day the best day possible are MY HEROES.

As I said in my talk…

Working for the Parkinson’s community is what Joe and I do – it’s our
passion.

We can have P.D. stand for Parkinson’s Disease OR

We can have it stand for Passion and Determination!

It’s our choice!

Passion and Determination have inspired me to do things I would never
have otherwise done, improving my quality of life, giving me a sense
of growth and accomplishment… and the faith that, in life, there is a
reason for everything.

None of us really know what life has in store for us. We all have a
future. What we make of it is up to us. Although life has no
certainly, there is always reason to HOPE. It just that tomorrow
hopes that we have learned something from yesterday.

Technology has put the potential to cure or control so many diseases
within our grasp. Since we are not scientists or politicians,
advocacy is the one thing that we can do to give ourselves and future
generations hope.

As Michael J Fox has said, “The fight against Parkinson’s is winnable
-- and you can play a part in the victory.”

And Joe and I thank all of you for what you all are doing.

Nina
