COMPOSITION AND RHETORIC POSITION
Laurentian University invites applications for one of two
newly-established tenure-track
positions in Composition and Rhetoric, specializing in Writing in the
Disciplines (WID) to
commence 1 July 2008. The position involves initiating, developing, and
directing
Laurentian*s new WID program through teaching, research, and consulting
with faculty
members and academic units participating in the program.
Working in cooperation with the francophone WID Director, the
successful candidate will
be responsible for leading the anglophone stream of the Writing in the
Disciplines program.
Specific responsibilities will include:
* designing WID programming for diverse disciplines in consultation
with relevant
academic units
* teaching, including offering workshops and teaching modules and
developing WID
teaching resources for faculty and students.
* conducting WID-related research
* administering the WID program in conjunction with the francophone WID
director
Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent qualifications in Rhetoric
and Composition,
Education, Professional Communication, or a related field, as well as
experience in relevant
teaching, research, and administration.
Salary is commensurate with experience and rank.
