Rick,

I take Paxil CR 25mg each morning. It's been sufficient for three
years so far.

What about anxiety? The two often go together. I have Xanax tab 1 mg
available for when I occasionally need one...

I also recommend that you listen to more trad jazz. !

Subject: Antidepressants

Hello

I have had symptoms (tremor & shuffle walk) for almost three years and
was diagnosed with PD 16 months ago. Since that time, I have tried
Selegiline, Sinamet, Artane, Mirapex, Baclofen and Neupro patches. None
of these reduced the tremor or improved my walk and all of them had
serious side effects on my digestive system (nausea/reflux to the extent
I could not eat and in some cases could not get out of bed). Another
medication, Metoprolol, for chest pain did lessen the tremor but
aggravated my asthma and liver disease.

My question is; has anyone experienced depression related to PD and what
medication has been effective? My wife and our family therapist are both
asking me to seriously consider an antidepressant to aid my sleep
depravation/muscle tightness and my primary care physician has
prescribed Ambien. My neurologist/movement disorder specialist has not
been willing to prescribe an antidepressant so far. I see him again on
Tuesday. We depart for three months in Sarasota on 12 January.
