Just to say, having read the text of Anthony's talk at Dalhousie (May 2007), 
I think it's an extremely well-considered overview of--just as the title 
suggests--what we've come to know about writing, as writing specialists, and 
why it matters. And it's beautifully written, so that it speaks to people in 
our field and yet is fully accessible to academics in other disciplines.
