UCB has some information for patients about the neupro recall on their web site
http://www.neupro.com/Home/Home.asp
most importantly:
"Do not stop taking Neupro without first talking to your doctor
Consult your physician as soon as possible
Your doctor will instruct you on how to gradually come off Neupro – this may take several days, depending on your current dose."
But there is more information avalaible if you click on "For physicians", such as the reason for the recall -- do they think patients cannot understand this or wouldn't be interested in it?
" The decision to recall is due to the formation of rotigotine crystals in the patches. When the drug crystallizes, less drug is available to be absorbed through the skin. Therefore, the efficacy of the affected product may vary. "
see full letter to Health care providers at
http://www.neupro.com/pdf/Neupro_US_Physicians.pdf
a contact phone number is also given
"You may also contact UCB medical information directly at 1-800-477-7877 (option 9) if you have any questions."
