Hi Russ and Anne,

I'm just back from Turkey and madly trying to catch up on mail, e-mail,
and telephone calls. This has been a sabbatical year for me and I've
been involved in some very interesting pedagogical study about how
students learn to write; originally I was going to follow up on the
iWRITE program, but students' comments lead me in another direction.
I look forward to sharing my results at future Inkshed conferences.
In addition, I've travelled to China (to present a paper at the HCI
conference) as well as trips to Russia, Sweden, Finland, and Estonia
... not to mention a family Christmas trip to Costa Rica.

Obviously I am not coming to Inkshed this year and I feel guilty about
not being there especially since it is the 25th anniversary but we do
have strong representation from Brock and Theresa Moritz!

A group of us met up with Marcy at Margaret Procter's place this
morning and we started to articulate what Inkshed means to us and we
realized the important connections and friends we had made over the
years as well as how Inkshed has enhanced our teaching (and writing)
skills. Specifically for me, Inkshed has made me realize that I am
part of a vibrant and engaging community.

Best regards for a rewarding conference,

Regards,

J. Barbara Rose
