The Ron and Jane Graham Centre, University of Saskatchewan, invites
applications for two full-time, without-term positions in *Rhetoric and
Professional Communication*, at the rank of Lecturer, to begin 1 July
2008 or shortly thereafter.

Founded in 2006, the Graham Centre is quickly becoming a national leader
in the study of human communication, and we anticipate continuing growth
in our undergraduate and graduate programming. In addition to delivering
a multi-sectioned required course in communication for undergraduates in
a variety of professional programs, the Graham Centre currently offers a
rhetorically-grounded Communication Option for undergraduates and
features a thriving graduate programme in rhetoric, offering both MA and
PhD degrees. Our innovative Master of Professional Communication degree
program is planned for launch in summer of 2009. We offer a vibrant,
dedicated intellectual community with a strong commitment to outstanding
teaching. More information can be found at our website*:
grahamcentre.usask.ca.*

In keeping with the Centre's emphasis on outstanding teaching,
successful candidates will bring evidence of effective teaching at the
post-secondary level, preferably using a rhetorically-grounded approach.
Also desirable are experience teaching students in professional
programs; experience in team teaching; willingness to participate in
faculty mentoring initiatives; and a record of involvement in innovative
teaching/programming and its implementation.

Interested applicants should submit a curriculum vitae and an
application letter that explicitly addresses their suitability for a
position teaching rhetoric and professional communication. The
application should also include the following documents:

    * evidence of effective teaching in the form of evaluations or
      observation reports;
    * a statement describing the candidate’s approach to teaching;
    * transcripts showing relevant course work in rhetoric or
      communication;
    * a written statement of no more than 750 words that discusses the
      relevance of rhetoric to the study and teaching of professional
      communication.

Applicants should also arrange for three confidential letters of
recommendation, to be sent under separate cover, from referees who can
specifically address the candidate’s suitability for a position in
rhetoric and professional communication. Application packages and
reference letters should be submitted to:
