Hi All,
Just finished my small part of an 18 mo study of the effects tms has on pd
as it relates to fatigue. The lead researcher indicated there was about a
year left before the study will be complete and though she said they had
discovered some interesting things I couldnt pry them out of her. From one
subjects experience there are some short term benefits that are subtle and
difficult to quantify. I expect that the mechanism might be similar to
that of dbs. But no one can explain why it works either unless there has
been progress in this I'm unaware of. One problem is that it requires a
great deal of electrical energy to generate the magnetic pulses (they are
quite powerful). Another problem that is that the apparatus is a bit noisy.
it also needs to cooled because of all those particles and waves and stuff.
