I share your belief that God gave us tools to help each other. I just finished a biology course in college and my final paper was actually about stem cell research. The embryonic stem cells that can be used are in no way a human being yet and my view on this is that decisions whether or not to be able to use a fertilized egg should be made on a case by case basis. My grandfather is suffering from late stage of PD. He didn't have the luxury of a slow onset either, it hit him all at once and the disease has ravaged him so quickly. If there was someway that someone would do the research on embryonic stem cells I would gladly give a fertilized egg to help save his life or even alleviate his symptoms. An embryo has no memories of a life that has been destroyed, or any feelings, however a patient suffering from PD is in pain and does hold on to their past life. We make so many eggs in our lifetime that just get expelled from our bodies as waste, why not use this to help others in
 need?
Sincerely,
Coral Watson

I am not a big fan of abortion, but before the first 3 months it is not even a person yet. I understand this. I have known other people against abortion (except under dire circumstances) and these people also believe that precious life saving cells are being wasted. I have met Catholics who have personally told me they would donate eggs and sperm to Margaret IF they would be allowed to. People have asked if they could give her blood, or bone marrow, to try and help her. when they see her struggling to walk upright, or tie her shoes, etc. Even very very conservative citizens are not necessarily against ESC treatment. I wish the governmen t would not fight science so hard!!!

An yone else with me on this idea?
