I am not a Doc but I would think that CR would help prevent dysK because it is a more even dose, without the peaks of regular sinemet. I have been on sinemet for 3 years and I began using comtan at the same time. I requested this based on studies which showed that DK's can be delayed by using comtan which makes the sinemet more even.
