PD Priority Funding Secured! Additional NIH and FDA Funding Provided for
2008!Take Action!
Please Thank Your Members of Congress!

Your voices were heard! Thanks to the efforts of the Parkinson's disease
community, the Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 emergency supplemental appropriations
bill, passed by both the House and the Senate, contains funding for two of
PAN's top priorities this year-funding for biomedical research at the
National Institutes of Health (NIH) and drug review at the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA).

Thursday, June 26, with a vote of 92-6, the Senate adopted the House's
version of the emergency supplemental appropriations bill, which includes
$150 million for NIH and $150 million for FDA for this year. The bill will
now be sent to President Bush, who is expected to sign it into law next
week.

Please continue being a leader in the fight for NIH and FDA! Click "Take
Action" and send an e-mail thanking your Members of Congress for including
this important funding in the emergency supplemental bill and ask them to
continue supporting strong funding for the NIH and FDA in the FY 2009
appropriations process!
