Henry, Reglan is contraindicated in PD - it depletes Dopamine.

A fellow nurse friend of mine had suddenly developed strange symptoms that
caused our fellow workers to comment on how quickly she had gone down hill.
When I saw her for the first time in weeks, I was shocked. She clearly had
all of the symptoms of PD. When I questioned her about any new changes in
her life or medication had occurred over the past 6 weeks, she told me that
she had been taking Reglan on her doctor's recommendation. She associated
the symptoms with the Reglan, but her doctor kept insisted that the
medication wasn't the cause. When I told her that she should consider
stopping the Reglan regardless of what the doctor had said and relayed that
Reglan was contraindicated in PD she made a decision to stop the drug.
Within 2 weeks she was back to her old self.

This woman is probably already dopamine depleted and may developed PD
eventually - but she is fine for the time being.

God bless
Mary Ann (CG Jamie 68/28 with PD, died 11/20/07)
