All depends. use meds as long as they give you a decent quality of life. when you get tired of shaking, get dbs. I was given bilateral dbs in one 4 hour operation with a two night stay, one before and one after surgery, in the hospital in may of 2002. the operation was a snap, getting the units set took many trips, 4 hours each way. your only real concern is how good the person is who programs your computer. the surgery team that implants should do at least three halo surgeries a week. at least one of those should be for dbs implants. if you get it done, don't look back. yes there are some big drawbacks. my wife says I am sexually compulsive, I thought I always had been. I stay at home, so to speak, but sex is a big deal now an I will say so. also my left side is weaker when the units are on, a small price to avoid my terrible shaking. seems to me that dbs works very best for shaking, only helps with other symptoms. gwc to all: if my spelling, grammar, strong opinions , and very conservative politics bother you, relax I don't come out of lurking very often. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn
