Deadlines for proposals for the first annual conference of the Canadian Association for the Study of Discourse and Writing are approaching fast. The theme of the conference is "The Territoire/ Places of Writing Studies in Higher Education: Canadian and International Perspectives." Of course, we will also include papers on all other aspects of discourse and writing studies. There has been some talk of holding the Inkshed conference on the days prior to the CASDW conference, so if you are planning to attend one or the other perhaps you'll be able to attend both. In addition, we hope to attract presentations, roundtables, workshops, and papers on writing centres. As an acting director of a writing centre (Roger), I can assure you that the program committee has a strong interest in this theme! To review the call for papers, follow this link: http://cattw-acprts.mcgill.ca/en/cfps.htm September 20 (for possible SSHRC travel funding) is the deadline for proposals; September 30 is the deadline if you do not want to be considered for travel support. We look forward to receiving your proposals and to two wonderful conferences.
