After the very low turnout to last year's meeting, I thought the question of whether or not Inkshed has a function had become central. Since there's already been talk of folding the organization, I was under the impression that next year's meeting was a special session dedicated to looking at the future, re-defining Inkshed, and considering its relationship to (and difference from) other Canadian Writing Studies groups. That doesn't sound all that boring to me, and if we don't address those questions now, there might be no more Inkshed conferences not to be bored at. And isn't there also concern that Ottawa-based folks might not be able/willing to organize a full 2 1/2 day conference?

Marcy, if duration is a criterion for travel money, stay on for CASDW. It would be great to have you there.

Anthony

I'm afraid the wither/whither topic sounds pretty boring to me too, even
though I care. It wouldn't allure new people either. If Inkshed has some
real functions, it must surely have some real topics to discuss, not
just itself.
