My 2 cents:

- Support groups (whether it is cancer, PD, AA, DA.....or whatever) work 
best for some people while they may not work at all for others.  IMO, one 
should choose whatever works for them, and the amount of attendance too.

- i know i may be getting off topic here but if your personality does not 
fit in with rituals, and dogmas like some of the addictions groups insist 
upon, then u have to find other ways of coping.....Just like Churches, some 
fit quite well in such environment, while some do not....however, imho, one 
should attend once in a while, just so u know it is there when u need it.
