Hi, there are lots of definitions of spam. My understanding is that it is
unsolicited bulk email, often involving hype, deception, or a sales pitch,
like ads for Viagra, pleas from Nigerian princes, and so on. Spammers may
want your money, your email address or other personal info, or just to toy
with you.

As I see it, my post doesn't fit within this description of spam. It went
out to a narrow group, I collected no personal data, and I stand to make no
money.

On the other hand, spam is in the eye of the beholder. I see chain letters
as spam, no matter how uplifting their content may be. When friends send me
such letters, I trash them and go on my merry way. (I don't, however,
consider my friends spammers!)

It's all rather murky and ill defined and probably that's a good thing.

Anyway, sorry if my post made you feel spammed!

Kathleen
