I'm sorry to hear about the mixed results you got with DBS.  Just read about 
a guy in Washington state who had bad results.  He even had to have redo 
because electrode was in the wrong place and a different programmer, but the 
end result was like a miracle.  I had a redo of right
side 2 months after first surgery.  My DBS stopped my tremors and I am not 
doing so great, but take no PD meds.

If you have the strength, I encourage you  to pursue a solution.  Its an 
ordeal, I know.
