hi diana, if i remember right no specific instructions are given upon
sign-up. as a matter of courtesy it would be nice if members asked before
they sent those large attachments but lots of people are spoiled through
highspeed internet and can't imagine anybody still using dialup. so far,
things have gone wrong rarely on this list and, hopefully, some members
questioning the large attachment sent recently will remind everybody to be
considerate. part of the blame needs to be placed on the list owner who in
my recollection never gets involved or posts guidelines. this can be a good
thing but sometimes it backfires and people will be unprepared for what is
the proper way to post to this list. i did not pay all that much attention
to the attachment but i'm sure the sender now realizes a link to the
conference would have been the better way to go
