I think Shurli's 1 and 4 can co-exist. For example, we could start by workshopping on drafts people have circulated. Then later in the day, we will focus on other people whose projects are more preliminary (i.e., no drafts yet). That way everyone benefits from feedback from others, and everyone contributes to somebody else's research (assuming everyone brings a project to the conference.)
