Hi Kathleen,
Dick and I recently bought a Sun EZ3 UX trike with a motor assist. It is one of the cheapest recumbent trikes, but still very expensive. We got our used for about $1,000. as we live in the foothills outside of Albuquerque. It is loads of fun, but we could not climb the hills without the electric assist. We are 70 and 73 years old. The drawback of it is that it is 78 inches long and 85 lbs. We need a trailer or a truck to go to the flat country where it would be much easier to build up our core strength. If you live in the flat country there are many smaller trikes that you could take in the trunk or in the back of a small wagon. This one is just too cumbersome. Go on line to recumbent trikes and you will get lots of resources or if you want me to send you a list, I will.

Sounds like the trike turned out to be a good thing for Laureen. I take it
balance was not an issue?
I had no idea a motorized trike was an option. That's good to know.
