Dear Dr Chew, We have a brain donation scheme operating here and one of the papers covered by post-mortem dissection showed consistently low levels of magnesium and zinc, and co-existent high levels of copper and iron. There was no data on whether the post-mortem levels were a partial cause of PD, or were deposited as a result of PD.
