Dr. Thomas Davis as a young movements disorder neurologist was one of our earliest contributors on Parkinsn. His institution, the Vanderbilt Medical Center in conjunction with the National Library of Medicine takes you through what they do in preparation for DBS. This was last year when this video was produced. If you were one of the early DBS patients, it will be interesting what they are doing at Vanderbilt as well as at the other teaching hospitals that have been on the leading edge of technology. At the teaching hospitals they localize the placement of the probes based on micro-electrode recording. The frame they have developed seems to be a big improvement over the original Leiksell (another former list member)frame. The URL for the Flash video is: http://www.or-live.com/distributors/nlm-flash/vau_2319/rnh.cfm?id=735 The video is about an hour long.
