Hi Nic, I was finally able to watch the video. At first it didn't want to download and then it finally started. I have no idea what I did. I kept checking the download....meanwhile, I got my laundry done....my animals fed....went out (the temp was only 92) and cleaned up after them....met my new neighbor s kids(when did they move in??) ....managed to put off a visit by them (3 of them in assorted ages and sizes and one puppy)....did my dishes....and then, there it was, finally. Another 20 minutes and I could have changed the sheets on my bed. The last part of the video was very choppy but after reading your e-mail to the PIEN site I found out my computer wasn't at fault Watching it made me aware of how little I really know about Parkinson's but found myself amazed at the courage everyone keeps showing and the humor that keeps them going. I'm so glad you gave me a kick in the a** and got me tiptoeing back onto the site and a second kick for me to get the nerve to write. It must have been rather unnerving presenting to a lot of PD 'masks' ;-) The video is 1Hr 51 minutes long but well worth watching, especially for those of us experiencing, freezing, falling, threshold/doorway and elevator/escalator 'fear'. Kevin provides common sense 'plans' and strategies that will make your life a lot easier. The crux of his lecture is to replace the lame/sick/dead 'auto-pilot' that usually perform functions like walking, getting out of bed, etc., with manual control. The last 27 minutes of the video had lots of blocking and freezing (can a video file get PD?) but that part was mostly the Q & A session, which was a disaster as one could not hear the questions. However, the subject matter was very well presented by Kevin who willingly shared his excellent first hand experience with PWP. Thanks Kevin! I can now get up a lot easier from my computer chair ;-) Nic 57/15 On Mon, Sep 14, 2009 at 10:34 AM, PATTI ZAPF <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Thank you Nic. i downloaded the movie too, but can't figure out how to > drop it in. > i'll look forward to your feedback. > :>) patti cg > > > On Sep 14, 2009, at 1:38 AM, Nic Marais wrote: > > Hi Patti, >> >> I couldn't get it to work either (at least not in Firefox) and eventually >> downloaded the movie.
