The Governor of NYS, David Paterson has proclaimed Sept. 23rd as Stem Cell Awareness Day in New York State. Due to the efforts of NYAMR - a coalition of disease organizations (led by PDF), academic institutions, researchers and patients over the last 5 years, and the support of officials like the Governor, stem cell research is moving ahead in NYS. NYSTEM invited investigators to submit stem cell images that were visually beautiful as well as scientifically meaningful. The winning images appear in a slide show on the website, and in the near future will be incorporated into a 2010 NYSTEM calendar available for downloading from the website.
