Good advice. I went to my family doctor yesterday, and was in really rough shape. She told ME to phone the neurologist to get me in early. She doesn't like treating me for something when I am seeing another doctor ..especially a neurologist. I went to bed last night at 11:00, and was up till past 2:00am with constant jerks. I was ready to call the ambulance, but decided not to. I have other medical issues such as M.D. that my doctor likes to blame it on, which is preposterous. The neurologist in our hospital is a jerk (very mean) but at least I could get his opinion. This is starting to wear me out. At the doctors yesterday, not only that I had jerks, I couldn't stop my head from turning side to side. (Not a jerking motion) Thank you all for such wonderful support. It really helps. Norm, I agree that you should make a fuss. What is happening warrants immediate attention. My advice would be: Go back to the ER and be sure to call an ambulance to take you there. That way you move to the head of the line. If possible have a friend or family member meet you there and stay with you to help you navigate, interpret, communicate. *Demand* to see the neurologist on call. Do not take no for an answer. Get a notebook and pen. Starting with your call for the ambulance, keep your own chart. Write down the name of every person who examines or questions you, every med you take, everything that is told to you, with dates and times. Let it be seen that you are doing this. (Ask people's names if you don't know them. And be vigilant about meds. My son almost received the same medication twice within a short time. Fortunately we noticed.) Please let us know what is happening with you!
