I don't know how the "Is Obama Poised..." post is relevant to this list, unless it's an example of how we have a handful of ignoramuses out there who think that a real problem (like PD) just isn't so. It's difficult for me to write a brief reply to that post, but I'll try: It's really scary to to see that some people actually believe the kind of nonsense in that post and Monckton's YouTube video--and give any sort of credence to the fanatics (and outright liars) like Monckton who spread it. Anyone who doesn't accept the fact that global warming is a reality need only take a trip with me to Alaska and see how the sea levels are rising, how Native communities are abandoning their villages because of it, to see the change in ice flows over the past 20 years, and how they they have receded some 150 miles in that period. Plus, one can witness the whale, walrus, and seal migrations that have diminished greatly over the past decade. In Alaska one can now see trees growing above the treeline, because tundra permafrost is melting. If that's not enough and that someone has the time and money, he or she can travel to the Austrian Alps and compare the glaciation today to what it was ten years ago. Same in Chile. Same in the entire circumpolar region. If that's not enough, he or she can take a trip to the island chains throughout the the South Pacific to witness the indigenous people living on islands that are being swallowed by the ocean as it rises. If that's not enough, we're all in trouble. Global warming is a reality, not a theory. One doesn't need to be a scientist to understand it; one can see it firsthand. Those who propagate their ignorance in this respect are helping to accellerate the the inevitable world crises we all will experience soon enough.
