Esther, Yes, Stalevo is simply Sinemet and Comtan combined in one tablet. Your husband may be responding badly to the Comtan (which I assume he had not taken before) or the particular dosages of the two drugs in his Stalevo may not be optimum for him. I suppose you could try various combinations of the two taken separately. My wife (31 years with PD) takes Sinemet every two hours from 6:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. and Comtan with four of these administrations. The purpose of Comtan is to increase the effectiveness of the Sinemet. Is your physician a movement-disorder specialist? Is he willing and able to describe to you what he is doing and why? If not, I recommend getting still another new doctor.
