Hi Jennifer, First of all, I am glad you enjoyed Linda Herman's book "When Parkinson's Strikes Early". My late wife Donna and I are quoted in it. Linda and her husband Ed have been good friends of mine for almost as many years as I have had PD. I was diagnosed 15 years ago and stopped driving 5 years ago. I drove a small car, a Toyota Corrola. When I was still driving I had to hold the steering wheel tight because of my tremors. I could not talk to anyone or let my mind wander. I had to concentrate totally on driving. Finally I felt my cognitive skills were too poor for me to continue driving. As PD is a designer disease it affects everyone differently. I know people who have been diagnosed almost as long as I have and are still comfortable dring. I know others who have quit driving 6 or 7 years after being diagnosed. Keep driving as long as you are comfortable and safe doing it.
