This post caught my attention.

My father is 76 years old, and he suffers from atypical Parkinsonism, whereby he is unresponsive to Sinemet.

Of growing concern however has been his cognitive decline, which has been very noticeable of late.

While looking into dementia medications, I came across the Cholinergic group, which are indicated for dementia in Australia.

Does this suggest that the Cholinergic group may be helpful both for PD symptoms and for cognitive decline?

This is very interesting. I wonder how the variability of PD's symptoms andprogression relates to individual differences in the balance of dopamine andacetylcholine (and other neurotransmitters as well).Kathleen2009/12/22 Steve Rack <[log in to unmask]>> > This is the first I have ever heard of anticholinergics for PD.>>>>>> anticholinergic are not recommended for PD.
