Can I suggest one exersice machine that has helped my father keep active in a safe and manageable way.

It is a whole body vibrating machine.

My father simply stands on it for 3 X 10 minutes per day, and it vibrates. It is safe and easy to use.

Now I use it as well, just as a control so to speak. It genuinely affects the muscles, especially around the abdomen and the shoulders.

I originally got it because of some trials in the past which indicated some softening of PD symptoms.

I have unfortunately not seen any effect on PD symptoms, but it is a good exercise option nonetheless.

I would also mention that I take my father to the pool twice a week, and despite the difficulties, he believes it benefits him, especially the spa. But we focus on walking in the 1 metre pool, which for some reason when he is in water he can take larger steps.

Thanks

Robert
