I expect most PD specialists will agree with that! The big problem after 
discovering dopatherapy is the medical world considered PD treatable whereas 
there was practically nothing for other neurodegenerative diseases. On top of 
that, it was considered  a disease  of old age so why spend too much time 
looking for a better treatment?
In fact not much was known about PD until about 15-20 years ago. One just has 
to look at medical books about PD of those years. Between the ´60s when 
dopatherapy was discovered and around  the ´90s, a lot of time has been 
wasted. Pre-dopa PD was pretty awful but dopatherapy is not the only answer, 
as we know too well.
