i get cramps in my leg muscles and my toes curl inwards particularly when i use some other part of my body, eg now i am typing and my toes are reacting. i have always believed this to be dystonia. in my upper back and neck where i have become very hunched over, i experience a different type of pain, a sharp burning sensation that shoots across my back and neck. both of these situations existed before my dbs surgery .the dystonia is much improved, the back has deteriorated which leads me to believe that it is not directly related to pd. but both situations react favorably to quinine. originally a glass of tonic water drunk before bed time would suffice; now i take it in tablet form. for the pills you need  a prescription from your doctor.

Could you please explain the toe tendon cutting.  What symptoms precipitated that?

In walking or stationary bicycling, or fast walking in the pool  for more than 15 minutes, my foot curls inward and cramps up- sometimes in a spasm to my knee.  I am not able to walk then. Do others have this?  Does this tendon cutting have anything to do with that?  I have a very arthritic knee and the orthopedic claims it is my knee and nero says is PD- but no advice on what to do.

thanks for any suggestions

suzanne
