I've been on Azilect for about a year.  It seems to take the edge off my admittedly minor symptoms. No noticeable side effects (other meds we tried made me edgy or fatigued) and no noticeable progression in PD.

From what I have read, my experiences are common - but there seems to be a rapid drop off of effectiveness after 2 or 3 years for a majority of users.

For what it is worth, I have found that exercise has had more important impact on my standard of living.

Good morning everyone,
My neurologist is strongly encouraging that I switch to Azilect as it has some record of slowing the progression of PD. (I'm 38 and recently diagnosed with YOPD) I'm a little freaked by all the contraindications and side effects and am having difficulty finding unbiased consistent information on the drug. Has anyone out there taken Azilect? Does it indeed slow the progression? Any thoughts or opinions?
Thanks,Jen
