I had bilateral DBS in 2003. It not only stopped my tremors but I've never had another ocular migraine and I am never depressed and I think I should be!! However, my speaking difficulty began then and some people don't understand that raising my voice does not mean I am angry, but I do get mad when I am told to "just calm down" when I do raise my voice. Recently, I threw a pen at my tax guy when he did this and told him to get on with it. His wife has MS and I had hoped he would be more understanding. Parkinson's symptoms are very frustrating and the DBS did not make me more accepting of them, but one CG told me she thought I was calmer after DBS.
