I purchased a STELLA stand (a moving stand up stand) for Jamie with he could
no longer walk. It was the smartest purchase I ever made because I could
move him from the bed to the commode, to the shower, to the wheelchair and
finally to his very comfortable Lazy Boy recliner. Because the STELLA stand
relieved pressure on Jamie's back end whenever I stood him up, he never
suffered from bed sores even though his nutrition was inadequate toward the
end.

I made sure that I moved him to the toilet when he got up in the morning,
after each meal and one time between meals. That schedule was enough to
keep him continent. In excellent nursing homes, that same technique is
used.

> Mary Ann, I'm curious what you mean when you refer to a toileting program.
