If your symptoms are well controlled by meds and you don't have tremor, you are probably not ready to take the plunge.  I doubt if I would have ever had it if my tremor had not gone bilateral.   I was 67 at the time and decided maybe I shouldn't wait until I was older to do it.  Your age my be a factor you'll want to consider.

It has been 7 years and one NT replacement in 1997 and I can barely speak.  My neuro tells me it is due to the DBS.  It was after I had it in 2003 that the voice problems began.  However, I'll never know if its not PD.
