After reading David Bevington's very helpful, 'Staging the Reformation: Power and Theatricality in the plays of William Wager' in _Interludes and Early Modern Society_, I worked out a doubling scheme for _The Virtuous and Godly Susanna_ according to its title page, advertising that 'Eyght persons may easyly play it.', and it works well. Here's a question for the list: Are there any interludes that don't live up to their title page 'billing'? ie doubling schemes that don't work with the ' ___ persons may easyly play it' ? Just curious. Terry __________________________________ J Terry Wade [log in to unmask]
