Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. In 2003, a group of scientists and executives from the National Institutes of Health, the Food and Drug Administration, the drug and medical-imaging industries, universities and nonprofit groups joined in a project that experts say had no precedent: a collaborative effort to find the biological markers that show the progression of Alzheimer's disease in the human brain. CERE-120 is an experimental drug that is designed to help damaged nerve cells in the brain function better. http://www.pdtrials.org/en/browse/all/1/view/296 A Study to Assess the Clinical Effect of Droxidopa in the Treatment of Symptomatic Neurogenic Orthostatic Hypotension in Participants with Parkinson's Disease This is a study to evaluate the effects of an investigational drug, Droxidopa, in participants with neurogenic orthostatic hypotension, a condition associated with PD that causes a person's blood pressure to fall when they stand up. His muscles grew rigid, locked in place because of PD, until the medication finally kicked in, allowing to him get up, move around, live his life.
