Hello Scott,

I too have vivid, acting-out dreams, not every night--I'd say once or twice
a month. As I have no martial arts skills whatsoever I fend off the demons
verbally, so my husband only has to endure being waked up by my shouts.

I find that when I want an uninterrupted night's sleep, a small dose of
lorazepam will do the trick. That's generic Ativan. I've been taking it
occasionally for years, and have never experienced anything remotely
resemblling addiction, though there are warnings on the packaging.

I do suspect my dopamine agonist of being the culprit. I take Mirapex and
keep that dose as low as I can.

The only spouse protective measure I can come up with is for you to sleep
under the top sheet, while she sleeps on top of it.

I wonder if there is any kind of monitor that would detect the onset of a
vivid dream and wake the sleeper up before responses commence. Any sleep
researchers out there?

Scott, I remember when you were a regular poster. It's good to hear from
you!

Kathleen
